What in the world am I talking about?... Well, here we go
Question: Since the T5.B Nuero has a 50% chance to proc, does it increase to 75% with an AoE? Since there are technically two attacks (a direct attack and an AoE attack), it could roll for Nuero twice, resulting in two 50% events going off in one shot... I hope that makes sense, but I tested it anyways.
Hypothesis: I really hope there is a 75% chance to proc Nuero with these two attacks. My guess is that there is a 75% chance because I'm hopeful. However, I'm known to be wrong (WP discussion lol).
How I tested it: Literally go into a game and shoot stuff. If it procs, it procs. Simple. I tried to eliminate any inconsistencies (missing, not being able to tell, etc.) and I did my best to make it as fair as possible. Let's get into the results, because they're very interesting. So far, I've only tested it twice, which is nowhere near being enough, but it's a good start.
INFO | TEST 1 | TEST 2 |
---|---|---|
Total Shots in Bulldog | 52 | 52 |
Can't Tell Shots (wasn't sure how to call it, so they are removed) |
10 | 5 |
Shots Used in Test | 42 | 47 |
Shots That Did Not Proc Nuero (Very Surprising imo) |
8 | 8 |
% of No Proc | 19.05% | 17.02% |
% of Nuero Proc | 80.95% | 82.98% |
Was I Shocked? | Absolutely | Yeah, it was consistent |
Notes: (IMPORTANT) | Read Special Case* Occurrence : 1x |
Read Special Case* Occurrence : 4x |
% of No Proc (With Removed Special Cases) |
19.51% (8/41) | 18.60% (8/43) |
% of Nuero Proc (With Removed Special Cases) |
80.49% | 81.4% |
Special Cases I'll try to explain these Special Cases as best as I can. Here's what happened. Two grunts were near each other, so I shoot Grunt A (the other one is Grunt B). Grunt A is shot, and Nuero does not proc. However, Grunt B is afflicted with Nuero. Obviously, the AoE of the shot hit Grunt B, but it missed on Grunt A, even though I shot Grunt A.
My best guess is to why this happens is that the Nuero chance rolls individually, making it possible to fail on one unit and proc on another. It was lucky enough to miss Grunt A and proc on Grunt B. This happened one time during Test 1, and four times during Test 2.
The final %s at the bottom are after completely removing the Special Cases from the experiment. IMO, this makes it fair.
Conclusion(ish):
I wanted to test if there was a 75% chance to proc Nuero with a direct damage attack and an AoE attack, and I was surprised after my first two tests. The proc %s were a lot higher than I anticipated, and I absolutely think that there were mistakes with my testing. Feel free to test it yourself because I felt like it proc'd wayyy more than it should've.
What I need to test: I need to test using this build more, and I need to test it without the AoE at all (to see if it's not my error and actually an increase in proc chance)
Still no new builds for a while (3/3/22) -PadreDa
Rock & Stone! P.S. I use the term 'proc' because I play RoR2, you're welcome.
