Special Bolt: 15 Direct Damage, 10 Area Damage, 9 bolts, 10 sec effect duration. If you hit an enemy, it will have its movespeed slowed by 30% and be hostile to other enemies for the duration of the effect.
Special Bolt: 15 Direct Damage, 12 Area Damage, 9 bolts, 14 sec effect duration. If you hit an enemy, it will take 10 Poison Damage per Second for the duration of the effect. If it dies while it still has that status effect active (or is killed by the status effect), then after a 1 sec delay it will explode for 165 Explosive Area Damage in a 4m radius. The explosion also Stuns for 1 second and inflicts 100% Base Fear Chance.
Special Bolt: 15 Direct Damage, 10 Area Damage, 12 bolts, 12 sec effect duration. If you hit an enemy, it will have its movespeed slowed by 50% and take an average of 16 Electric Damage per Second. If you shoot a second Taser bolt within 6m of the first one, an electric beam will arc between the two bolts that slows enemies by 80% and does 30 Electric DPS. Taser Bolts are not retrievable.

Short(er) Version:

Weapon Upgrades Overclock
M1000 Classic 2-3-1-2-X Active Stability System
Nishanka Boltshark X-80 1-2-2-3-3 Fire Bolt
Weapon Notes
M1000 Upgrades are set to damage to quickly get rid of problematic enemies and so it can one (focus) shot things like Tri-jaws (weakspot) and Acid Spitters (body).
Nishanka Boltshark X-80 Upgrades set for more regular ammo. Use the Fire Bolts on the ground if no tough enemies are around, if something like a Praetorian is nearby, tag it with a Pheromone Bolt and shoot two Fire Bolts so it’ll quickly ignite everything that goes to fight the Praetorian.
Tool Upgrades Notes
Grappling Hook X-1-X-X Personal preference. I go with longer reach upgrades.
Flare Gun X-X-X Again, personal preference. 1-2-3 has a good balance between ammo and flare duration for me.
Throwable None IFG and Voltaic Stun Sweeper are my choices for this build.
Light Scouting Suit X-X-1-3 Breathing Room is always a safe choice.

Detailed Explanation:

M1000 Classic

  • Use it to kill anything that might pester your team or you.
  • T2C, Armor Breaker upgrade, is highly recommended at higher hazards since the chances of heavily armored enemies to show up is considerable and the low ammo means you can’t afford to waste too many shots.
  • T4 upgrades (Blowthrough or Hollowpoint) should be chosen at the user’s taste. Whether you want to focus on the M1000 to kill HVTs (high value targets) or have a bit more of Grunt clearing is up to you.

Nishanka Boltshark X-80

  • Keep your distance while the Fire Bolts kill things. Unlike the M1000 they will take some time to kill even regular Grunts.
  • Use Fire Bolts on the ground to get rid of small to moderate groups of Grunts or Swarmers harassing you.
  • If something tougher like a Praetorian/Oppressor/Warden shows up tag it with a Pheromone Bolt and quickly tap reload to swap to Fire Bolts and shoot it twice more to quickly ignite enemies that will flock towards the Pheromone’d enemy.
  • Beware that there’s a limit to how many enemies will be aggro’d by a single Pheromoned enemy-- if too many enemies are around some will still go for you.
  • If needed, tag two enemies, but remember: you only got 9 Pheromone Bolts.

Throwables

  • IFG is a solid choice as enemies tagged with a Pheromone Bolt will group together allowing the Fire Bolts to quickly kill things potentially increasing the Fire Bolt’s swarm clear potential.
  • Voltaic Stun Sweeper is never a bad choice, especially since you might want some enemies to stand still and get that M1000 shot just right. It’s also good to get Spreaders, Menaces and small groups of Macteras to stand still immediately before they stir up trouble.
