Loadout Guide

Hello fellow drillers/miners!

lixl here, yet again with another Driller build. Scrap the things I said in the intro of my last build, Scorching tide is fun and when used properly, it can do a whole lot of damage to anything. Robots, Swarms, HVTs like praetorians, the bugs that are munching on your downed mates or just create a carpet of flames to make it even harder for those pesky aliens to reach you. I have been testing the Ins and Outs of this build on Hazard 5+ and this is what i settled on. But first, as usual, I have some questions for you:

  • Do you want the range that Ice Spear offers, but with Heat?
  • Do you want to cook?
  • Do you want more options to use your weapons?
  • Do you want a fun build that is suited for literally any mission?

If yes, then buckle up, we are going down.

You set fire to terrain (now say it like Adele would)

The CRISPR... For those who want pure satisfaction, with the extra of quick and easy work. Just aim at the bugs and watch them dissappear. In my and in Javarak Gaming's oppinion, Scorching Tide is more of a balanced overclock. You can use the Flamethrower as usual, you have the option to use the charged shot. So, when you are facing 1 grunt, you just need 5 units of ammo at max, not 25
T1 T2 T3 T4 T5
You might be asking, lixl, why not range?? Simple. You already have a range option and in higher hazards you will most likely fight bugs within 10 meters anyway. More magazine size = More charged shots + more time before you have to resupply. Set things on fire quicker. Is very helpful for laying out a carpet of flames. This build is rather ammo hungry, so more ammo is good. Your fire burns longer, thus you can kill more bugs with less ammo consumption. Your flames on the ground set things ablaze :D

The Bolter

Thanks to SDLightowler for telling, it is really good. Explosive reload does a good amount of damage, thus shoot grunt 2 times in ze weakpoint = ded bug :D
T1 T2 T3 T4 T5
Yes, higher magazine capacity instead of more accuracy. It lets you kill a sniper turret in 1 magazine. Thats pretty quick. Without it, it just lacks ammo. Now it is more even to the CRISPR's ammo consumption The reason, why T1 is more magazine size. Makes your following shots more accurate and now you can magdump into a praetorian from any range. Without it, it just lacks ammo. Now it is more even to the CRISPR's ammo consumption The upgrades in this tier are really up to your primary weapons. In this case +50% damage on burning targets. Thus less bullets needed to kill something = Better ammo efficiency
