"Hurricane" Guided Rocket System Upgrades set for area damage. Shoot at walls or the ground where you notice bugs will be or at your feet if you’re being chased.
BRT7 Burst Fire Gun The weapon of choice against airborne and distant enemies.
Tool Upgrades Notes
Zipline Launcher 2-1-1 Personal taste. Being able to fire at higher angles is always good in my opinion.
Shield Generator X-X-X Again, personal taste. I like more duration better.
Throwable Any While Tactical Leadburster is my choice for this build.
Reinforced Impact Suit 1-X-1-3 Breathing Room is always a safe choice.

Detailed Explanation:

"Hurricane" Guided Rocket System

  • Minelayer System turns every rocket into a small trap that does high damage to all types of Grunts and it isn’t too bad against bigger targets either. The rockets need a second to arm themselves, but are very good at killing even large groups of trash enemies.
  • Try not to shoot enemies directly with rockets unless they’re heavily wounded. The armed rockets turned into mines do a lot more damage.
  • In missions like Salvage Operation, Escort Duty and Deep Scan you can anticipate where enemies will come from and kill the bulk of a Grunt swarm before they even get close to you or your team.
  • The rockets can get rid of cobwebs in the Radiation Exclusion Zone, Crystalline Caverns and Hollow Bough.
  • Be careful when using this weapon in Magma Core. The explosions will leave small craters that can damage you.

BRT7 Burst Fire Gun

  • Use this weapon for anything that the Hurricane can’t reliably or quickly kill like Macteras, Spitters and Spreaders.

Throwables

  • Tactical Leadburster is my choice of throwable. It’s pretty versatile and can get rid of groups of Macteras quickly. Two well thrown Leadbursters will do a lot of damage to a Bulk Detonator in vanilla Haz 5.
