Loadout Guide

Introduction

This is one of the three M1000 builds that I play with Scout on Hazard 5 levels (Focus Hipster, Hipfire Hipster, Hoverclock). I play this exclusively on focus shots. This build is also an alternative to my hipfire-based Hipster M1000 build. Both builds performances are honestly about the same, just mainly a choice if you prefer doing focus shots more or hipfire shots.

Here is a gameplay video of my playstyle and how I basically play the M1k with this build: https://youtu.be/xxZB0R1Noy8

M1000 Tiers Explanation

T1, T2, T3 - Flat damage, Armor break, and Increased focus damage are needed to hit the one-hit-kill focus shot breakpoint on normal grunts. T4 - Breakthrough is really good in Haz5 as enemies just naturally line up for you very often and it is also really ammo efficient. T5 - Since most of my shots are focused, the stun is the obvious choice here. Helps with following up with shots on anything bigger than a normal grunt. If reloading is a problem, you can learn how to cancel your reload animation. It increases your overall DPS too because you only really get 4 focused shots with this build; reload animation canceling significantly reduces your reload downtime.

Boomstick Tiers Explanation

I chose Special Powder Boomstick for secondary only for fall-negation, but it's also really good for extra mobility. If you don't need special powder for fall negation or extra mobility, my other recommended choice is Embed Detonators Zhukov (see my Hoverclock build for that). It has insane DPS on big targets like Oppressors/Praes that allows you to use your M1k ammo more on lesser mobs. T3 - You have a choice here between more ammo versus more pellets. More pellets help in taking down big targets and make up for the slightly less damage nature of Hipster OC (compared to other M1k OCs). More ammo allows you to obviously spam Boomstick more for mobs and make use of Special Powder more. Play with both; see what you like. T4 - I chose blowthrough rounds just to be more ammo efficient. You don't really need the armor breaking as much because you already have it on the M1k. But if you find yourself using the Boomstick as an opener to oppressors/praetorians (shotgun first then start shooting with M1k), then this is a good choice too. T5 - All three are viable choices. If you don't run the Born Ready perk, then this Auto Reload is an alternative to that. The overall automatic reloading nature of both allows you to unload your shotgun then quickly switch back to your primary which is much smoother gunplay. I choose the fear mod as it's helpful in getting enemies off of you or your teammates, especially when you're trying to revive them. The last choice, White Phosphorous Shells, can be taken for overall more damage.

Utility

Perks are completely up to you, I personally use Born Ready, Deep Pockets, Thorns, Field Medic, and Iron Will. Cryo Grenades - Super versatile; allows clutch revives; killing of breeder, brood nexus, spitballers; freezes enemies which one-shots swarmers and mactera. Pickaxe - less cooldown mod to make mining faster and getting up to those veins Grappling Hook - The T5 Momentum mod is really amazing in combat and overall mobility. The extra speed boost in combat allows you to kite in-between shots, and therefore needing to grapple out less just to reposition. The rest of the mods are up to preference. Flare Gun - Combo of ammo/longer duration is up to preference. A higher fire rate allows you to shoot 2+ flares quickly at once; mainly useful during combat. But if you want the slight ammo edge, then go for higher magazines.
