When the Heat Meter is greater than 50%, you can press the Reload button to manually activate the Overheat mode. When used in this way, Overheat's duration gets multiplied by x0.65, and also scales with the current Heat level (50% Heat Meter = x0.5 Overheat Duration).
When the Heat Meter is greater than 50%, the Rate of Fire is increased by +5 (up to a maximum of 20 RoF).

Loadout Guide

Premise of the build: Independent Scout that can do anything and kill everything as long as he has ammo. Honestly, this build is more about how good Cryo Minelets are at disabling swarms so you can shoot them down with DRAK than DRAK itself. Make no mistake: DRAK is a powerhouse in and of itself, but enabled this way it murders just about everything. Embedded Detonators Zhukovs can be used instead of Cryo Minelets if you absolutely want to make sure no large targets get close to your team, making this loadout a Pocket HVT Assassin with enough reach and grasp to get them gone.

DRAK Build
T1: With OPA, you need to offset penalties more than anything so it’s Improved Thermals. You can alternatively use Thermal Exhaust Feedback OC.
T2: Larger Battery, both TEF and OPA give you great damage.
T3: Custom Coil Alignment is required for OPA to have at least a semblance of control at long range. TEF could make use of Gen 2 Cooling System to juggle the high heat but accuracy is also great on this OC. I also recommend finding a Weapon Crosshair Heat mod on drg.mod.io to make juggling heat easier.
T4: Overcharged PCF, free 15% electrocution chance that does 48 damage and incaps the target is nice, and both of the OCs explicitly can’t apply their bonuses to Plasma Splash’s additional AoE damage. Armor Breaking is wasted on a weapon with high RoF and comparatively weak damage per shot, it doesn’t hit any armor breaking breakpoints either (it might not even work against light armour if the experiments Wiki team makes are any indication).
T5: Thermal Feedback Loop increases your DPS. Manual Heat Dump actively hurts the usage of those 2 OCs. Easy pick I suppose…

OC: Overtuned Particle Accelerator or Thermal Exhaust Feedback, both are excellent OCs that do massive damage vs single targets and can clear swarms decently, too.

Zhukovs Build
T1: Expanded Ammo Bags. No-brainer, more ammo = more minelets.
T2: Quickfire Ejector’s reload speed bonus compliments the T5 selection nicely and increases your sustained DPS;
T3: x0.4 spread vs +1 damage. No contest and a really easy win for Better Weight Balance.
T4: Expanded Ammo Bags for Embedded Dets, but Blowthrough Rounds for Cryo Minelets. While more ammo equals more Embedded Detonators and Blowthrough is wasted on the highest sustained DPS build in the game, Cryo Minelets OC should opt into Blowthrough Rounds nowadays as +50 real ammo is just not comparable vs the utility Blowthrough offers. Prefiring minelets at the path Glyphids are going to take is my preferred way of using Cryo Minelets though.
T5: Get In, Get Out unless you’re using IFG.

OC: Cryo Minelets / Embedded Detonators. Both make or break the weapon (in this case, they actually make it good). Minelets disable swarms and stray Praetorians, while Embedded Detonators destroy HVT enemies.
